Bonelli comics in Brazil
by Julio Schneider
with a little help from Marco Gremignai
translation by Alessandra Murray

History of the West.
Beginning in 1970 and for 17 years thereafter, Editora Brazil-America published the initial version of the Italian "History of the West" under the title Epopeia TRI. It was issued every three months in the Italian format, totalling 73 issues. In 1991, Editora Record published a revised re-issue that was more faithful in translations of the text and in the title of the series.

Mister No.
Sometime around 1975-1976, Mister No was presented to the Brazilian public in eight small albums the stories of which corresponded to issues 1 through 4 of the original Italian series (each album contained one-half of the adventure). Editora Noblet, however, was a small company with little resources and the adventures of Jerry were really quite brief. Between 1990 and 1992 Editora Record published 20 numbers using the same format and order as that of the Italian series.

Zagor.
Due to the immense success of Tex in the 1970's, Editora Vecchi published 55 monthly issues of Zagor between 1978 and 1983 using a smaller format than that of the Italian version (13.5x17.5 cm). After Vecchi closed shop, Editora Globo published 38 issues. From 1989 to 1995 Editora Record took over, publikshing 64 regular issues using the Italian format, 2 large annual editions, 7 editions of SPECIAL ZAGOR (which corresponded to the Italian series "Tutto Zagor"), and 7 EXTRA ZAGOR from the Italian special series "Cico's Story" ("A Origem de Chico").
